The favors of the LORD I will sing forever;
through all generations my mouth shall proclaim your faithfulness.
For you have said, “My kindness is established forever”;
in heaven you have confirmed your faithfulness. – Psalm 89. 2 – 3
As we give our attention to culture and news, it is easy to loose sight of the favors and kindness of the Lord. Amidst the frictions, tensions and distractions of life, it is so easy to forget a disposition of praise – the very remedy for the sense of agitation that abounds.
We forget because we are giving our attention to a particular moment in a particular generation, and neglecting to look “above” to the One that transcends all generations and moments of interest, conflict or exhilaration.
