Blessed are you who…delight in the Wisdom of the LORD and meditate on this wisdom day and night.
You are like a tree
planted near running water,
That yields its fruit in due season,
and whose leaves never fade.
Whatever you do, you prosper. – Psalm 1.1-3
A week from today is the first day of Lent.
It is a season for meditating day and night on the Wisdom of God – in scripture, in nature, in silence, in the solitude of our fasting, and the communion of our alms giving and service in relationship to others.
If you have not yet made your intentions for how you wish to deepen your delight in the Wisdom of God and expand your love for your brothers and sisters of the human family, now is a good time to begin to ponder what you feel called to do. Our increased Lenten doings and undoings are meant to help flourishing occur – in every dimension of our experience.
A daily resource such as A Living Lent or Thomas Keating’s Journey to the Center can be useful.
