Peter lives in Austin, Texas with his wife Christina. Together, they seek to live the contemplative life. Peter serves as an associate pastor at Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church in Austin, TX. Peter received his M.Div. from Princeton Seminary and is currently writing his D.Min dissertation. Peter practices a daily form of meditation called Centering Prayer and seeks to articulate the forgotten contemplative dimension of Christianity to Christianity. He is nurtured by the presence, teachings and writings of Father Thomas Keating, Tim Cook, the writings of Maurice Nicoll, and the extraordinary Cistercian Studies Series on the Church Fathers published by Cistercian Publications. For renewal, Peter takes walks in the woods, naps at Barton Springs and listens to romantic adagios.

Dear Peter,

Peter,
I’ve met you once before at CCH, but am not “proud” of who I was at that time. I have continued to listen to Tim’s sermons online, and have attempted to be part of the community in that way. The Spirit has been patiently guiding me to a Contemplative understanding and I have seen a marvelous work performed in me. I just listened to your Lenten sermon and will listen to it again soon. I also appreciate the daily prayers you send out. I always look forward to them as a way to enhance my own prayer life.
I was a fundamentalist minister for 11 years. I left almost three years ago because I could no longer identify with that. I had no intention of ever ministering again, but over and over, more and more, I feel that gentle urge of God. I find myself ministering in my daily life by simply loving and being present for others, but I feel there is more I should be doing. Again, your daily prayers have been especially helpful in this direction. Because I beleive in the power of prayer, and because I know you are a man of God and prayer, I ask you to speak a prayer on my behalf.
Bless you.
Dear Eric, THank you for your kind words and I look forward to visiting sometime in the future at CCH. God is always holding us as we grow. You are loved. P
