Beloved:
Today I make the inward turn to silence to feel Your strength as the energy for all my doings and also my deepest rest.
In Christ, Soul of my soul. Amen.

Resting in the Spirit is a practice I have only recently began to engage in and added to my spiritual practice. There are times when my mind won’t allow me to reach that silence and it is a great labor and seemingly futile to forget my thoughts and the din of the world. But there was one time while praying in an empty church that I think I managed to forget the world and truly rest in the Spirit for a couple minutes. While in that mysterious space, however brief, there was healing, abundant love, and infinite yet specific mercy. I believe that encounter will keep me in this practice for the rest of my days. I thank you for these prayers, and pray that more Christians will enter silence and encounter the living God.
Really beautiful.
