Friend of Friends: You are not put off by our underbelly human desires and deeds. Your love is bigger than our weakness, failures, fears and frictions. Your love is not fazed by our faithless wanderings, eyeing what we don’t have and desiring what others do. While we often spend our days stirred by the senses, we are rarely satisfied. Hypnotized by life and all its gold and gods, we forget our deeper friendship with you. Wake us up. Help us forget the figures we keep on ourselves and on others, and draw us into the softness of surrender. Remembering you, we forget ourselves and sink into love where all is provided and freely given. Through Christ our Lord we pray. Amen.
