There is a surge up from the surface of things into what is beyond both living and dying. Yesterday, I spoke with a young husband who told me that as he was driving to the hospital at 4 a.m. after receiving a call that his wife was in cardiac arrest, he heard his wife’s voice as the car radio came on by itself. Her voice said: “beloved, I must go now.” It was 4:42 a.m. Later, when speaking with the doctors, they confirmed it was at that time his beloved passed.
Only love is the holy meaning of this hard life. Only love surges life into being, and carries us beyond. Only love heals broken hearts and mends fractured homes and countries. Only love speaks in the middle of the night when you are alone. Only love keeps with you when no one else will. Only live knows when everyone else forgets. Only love gives third chances, again and again. Only love sees your beauty when others only see your baggage.
For every marriage wandering. For every child hurting. For every friend alone. For every spouse grieving. For every country suffering. For every wound healing. For every heart longing. For ever soul dying. For every day being lived. For every parent worrying. For every teen questioning. For every need seeking. There is and shall be love. I agree. You agree and the third One is always in agreement, and in this Trinity of affirmation, Love shall be. God is love. We come from God. We return to God and in between we learn and become love.
All things come and go. Love endures forever. Thank you for sharing this journey into love. Amen.
