Daily Reflection for Friday, January 29th, 2010

Whatever path of loneliness or lack you may be traveling today, miracles of love and supply will arrive: the heart is beating; the lungs are breathing; the mind is lit with conscious light. Beyond our thoughts of lack and longings for love, is a truth of Reality: God’s love has always met and will always meet all our needs. The sea will part. The storm will calm. God’s presence changes everything. But we must change our inner world of how we take things. And that is the secret to freedom.  A dirty window makes the world look fouled. Eyes are the window to the soul. Perception is the path. Truth is the light that guides the way. If you wish a different path, cleanse the perception with the Windex of truth. To change the way you take in impressions is to change your life. No one else can do this for you- including God.  God gives the Truth. We must put it to use. For this, grace abounds. Amen.

    "In Christ our sense of separation is subsumed by Divine love, enabling not just deeper spiritual understanding, but also spiritual union. Union with Christ is a state of being that helps dissolve our demands for air tight answers to the intellectual and emotional conundrums we confront in life and our perplexing experiences of existential pain.

    When we say that “Jesus became sin” for the salvation of the world, we mean that Jesus experienced the full terror of being separate from his Abba—the Aramaic term for “daddy.” Jesus couldn’t have imagined this state since his whole life was defined as being one with the Father. Thus, when he was asked to give up his oneness with the Father and become sin—that is, the state of conscious separation from the Father—it’s no wonder he cried out in agony alone in prayer (“If there be any other way”) and from the cross (“My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”).

    Jesus understood the core of what it meant to be human—to feel separate from God—because he experienced it. However, this experience is no longer the sole destiny for the human condition. An interpreter exists to mediate the mystery: the Spirit who awakens us in Christ to the essential interconnectedness that is our birthright way of being with God, our self, one another, and creation."
